Bed was comfortable, parking convenient to room, restaurant on premises, both indoor and outdoor pools. Plenty of brochures and maps for surrounding area in lobby.
Would have liked an available continental breakfast since the restaurant served lunch and dinner
The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She booked us and another party that we were traveling with in joining rooms, which was fantastic.
The mattresses were clean and bed-bug free, but uncomfortable. Not sure if they were cheap or just at the end of their lives.
We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was clean. It was a bit expensive and after arriving I found out I could have used my aaa discount if I had called the hotel directly instead of using Booked.net ???
The fact that I couldn't use my aaa card.
Overall good facilities. Location is a plus. Quiet at night (good!).
In general, needs som eTLC/touch-up care - seems sort of worn/tired, but still ok.
The Italian restaurant located on the premises was the only good thing about the Elizabethan Inn.
I asked for the aaa discount and they told me they could not do it since I booked on-line, even though my credit card had not been run. We asked for a late check out of 1 hour and they told us no, even though the hotel was empty. We asked if we could lounge by the pool for the extra hour and were again told no. It looked like a 5 year old painted our bathroom. Horrible hotel. Do not stay here!
I brought my fiancee to stay at the Elizabethan Inn while we visited Nags Head and Cape Hatteras. We both found it cozy and charming, and my fiancee enjoyed the spa and hot tub. Although we didn't have a chance to try it due to the brevity of our visit, the indoor pool looked clean and inviting. The room itself had a somewhat dated feel to it, but not necessarily in a bad way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back!
The only thing I did not like about my stay had nothing at all to do with the Elizabethan Inn, but rather with Booked.net . The website booked the wrong days (6/12-6/14 rather than 6/1-6/3) with the hotel, leading to a slightly inconvenient check-in. The friendly staff of the Elizabethan Inn quickly corrected the error, and happily accommodated us. If you book with Booked.net, be sure to call the Elizabethan Inn to confirm that the correct dates were booked!
They had a room available. The staff was friendly.
The place needs to repair its facilities.
Very friendly staff and our kids loved the indoor pool. Since we were traveling in the spring it was nice to have the option of swimming indoors.
Refrigerator wasn't plugged in when we got to the room and even after we plugged it in it didn't seem to get cold. Also the air conditioner unit was a bit touchy... Couldn't seem to find a happy medium.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable, well equipped room- everything worked as expected. Convenient parking, Location is ok, The aquatic center and workout gym was elaborate, and while not shiny new, was very well maintained, with everything clean and working.
Olympic size pool well keep. Exercise room awsome better than most exercise clubs. Very friendly staff. Located a short drive to The lost Colony. The Italian resturant located next door to Hotel has great pizza. Rooms very clean. Key card entry to all hotel doors. Our family rented two rooms, the staff put us in rooms with a door between them. Great public relations.
Rooms dated but clean. Rooms painted dark colors, which need to brightened up with lighter colors. The air conditioner thermostat temperature was questionable. Had to set it on 68f to keep a comfortable 73f. Air conditioner cycled a lot, it was not a hot week day. It worked but don't trust the led temperature setting.
Desk staff very pleasant and friendly.
Room had spell and feel of being old and outdated, such as condition of carpet, bathroom fixtures. Ice machine was located at another building . We chose the cheapest rate when we booked, and we got a room that we very much wanted to get out of as quickly as possible the next morning. One night was one too many. There were three or four separate buildings, and we didn't view any other rooms, so maybe the building we were in was the only dumpy group of rooms.
For an older hotel...it was clean and at a reasonable rate!
The A/C units thermostat wasnt working...had to shut it off when it got too cold and then turn it back on when it got too warm!
The Elizabethan Inn has been around a long time and always upholds a marvelous reputation. My family is from Manteo and we love to go back to visit. It is right over the bridge from Nags Head and the rest of the outer banks, so it is removed from the big tourist crowds but still "beachy". It was a great weekend and we had a great time!
Well, if I had to complain about anything it would be that when you are showering the water temp fluctuates a lot and will scald you one moment and freeze you the next! Also, we had my 76 year old grandmother with us on this trip and it was very hard for her to climb all the stairs at the manor building where our rooms were. But, all in all these things weren't a huge deal.
The area it was in.
Did not offer a breakfast, which we knew beforehand. Buildings and rooms very old and run down. Competition size pool was fine but the ceiling building it is in needs updating and renovated. Exercise room was good with good equipment. Beds were too firm. Very small bathroom in the room. Dirt on the baseboards, dead bugs along the walls behind bed and furniture. NOT American owed, would not display the American flag in front, yet another hotel across the street proudly displays the flag.
The Inn is very lose to Raleigh Park the Lost Colony performance, which is the reason for our choice. We stayed in one of the cottage style rooms, very private. It also has a very good and very reasonable Italian restaurant on site.
